Speaking at the launch event, Dr. Gulshan Rai, Cybersecurity Coordinator and Former DG – CERT-In, said, emphasized the importance of the GCA Index: “In today’s hyperconnected world, cybersecurity is no longer an option, it’s a necessity. The GCA Index empowers individuals and organizations to take charge of their security, providing them with the knowledge and resources needed to combat cyber threats effectively.“
The GCA Index is particularly relevant for India, given its rapidly growing digital landscape and increasing vulnerability to cyberattacks. As per the MeitY Annual Report 2022-23, over 76 crore citizens engage in an average of 40 crore online transactions daily. The GCA hopes to empower these individuals and organizations to navigate this dynamic environment with confidence.
